Punjab Announces Subsidy on 10,000 Tractors in Phase 3
The Chief Minister’s Green Tractor Scheme Phase 3 portal was launched today, attracting over 2,200 applications within just 15 minutes, as farmers rushed to avail the government’s PKR 500,000 subsidy on each tractor.
The initiative aims to support small and medium farmers by providing modern tractors ranging from 40 to 65 horsepower.
Under Phase 3 of the scheme, the government plans to distribute 10,000 tractors this fiscal year. Farmers who have previously acquired a tractor or have defaulted on their Kisan Card will not be eligible.
The selection process will be conducted transparently, with Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif personally overseeing the digital balloting later this month.
In the last two years, the government has successfully provided 18,000 tractors to farmers through previous phases, boosting agricultural productivity across Punjab. With 12,000 more tractors set to reach lucky farmers this year, the program continues to strengthen the farming sector and modernize rural agriculture.

The scheme has been widely appreciated by farmers, as it not only reduces the cost burden of purchasing machinery but also encourages mechanized farming for higher yields. Applicants are advised to ensure their documents and Kisan Cards are in order to avoid disqualification.
