Punjab Expands Electric Bus Service to 10 More Cities
The Punjab electric bus service has made a major advancement as the provincial government prepares to expand its eco-friendly public transport network.
According to officials, arrangements have been completed to make public transport operational in 10 additional cities, and 200 electric buses have already been delivered to these locations.
The Chief Minister of Punjab will officially inaugurate the buses in these cities on November 19. The buses will serve commuters in Rawalpindi, Chakwal, Jhelum, Gujar Khan, Toba Tek Singh, and Jhang. Additional services will begin in Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Rajanpur, and Bahawalpur to provide safe, clean, and efficient travel for residents.
The Punjab Transport Minister noted that electric buses are already operational in Lahore and nine other cities, transporting nearly 120,000 passengers daily. Government representatives emphasized that this initiative is aimed at promoting environmental protection while improving urban mobility.

Plans are underway to expand the public transport system to more cities across the province in the near future.
Officials also highlighted that the process for issuing driving licenses across Punjab is moving forward rapidly, supporting the growing transport network.
