Punjab Extends Green Tractor Scheme Deadline
The Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) has extended the deadline for applications under the Chief Minister Punjab Green Tractor Programme to January 25, 2026.
The announcement was made during a high-level meeting in Lahore, chaired by Punjab Agriculture Minister Syed Ashiq Hussain Karmani.
Minister Karmani revealed that over 300,000 farmers have applied in Phase-III of the programme.
He praised agricultural graduate interns for helping farmers adopt modern farming techniques, which is improving productivity across Punjab.
Officials at the meeting included Secretary Agriculture Iftikhar Ali Sahoo, Special Secretary Agha Nabeel Akhtar, Deputy Secretary Planning Kashif Bashir, Directors General Chaudhry Abdul Hameed, Naveed Asmat Kahloon, Rana Tajammal Hussain, and representatives from the Bank of Punjab.
The minister highlighted that Phase-II of the Kissan Card Programme has achieved a 98 percent recovery rate, with full recovery expected by February 15, 2026.
He noted that interest-free loans of Rs 100 billion have so far benefited more than 731,000 farmers.
To improve farmer services, the government will establish Kissan Card Facilitation Centres in all districts.
The minister also announced the distribution of 1,000 laser land levellers at 60 percent subsidy and the launch of seven labs-on-wheels for soil and water testing.

Mobile pest clinics are active in 65 tehsils, with plans to expand province-wide.
