Punjab Introduces New Rules for Govt Vehicles

The Punjab government has officially rolled out the Motor Transport Policy 2026 after cabinet approval, applying to all provincial departments.

Under the new Rules, all electric vehicle purchases now require Finance Department approval, vehicles will be allocated to officers of grade 17 and above, and the petrol limit for all officers has been increased by 25 liters.

The policy has been formally notified by the Department of Services, General Administration, and Coordination (S&GAD), making it effective immediately across all relevant government departments.
