Punjab Police Strengthens Crime Control with 118 New Vehicles
The Punjab Police new vehicles initiative is set to give a significant boost to the Crime Control Department (CCD), officials confirmed on Saturday.
The department is receiving 118 new vehicles, including luxury cars, single-cabin, and double-cabin pickups, to improve mobility and field operations.
Police officials stated that these vehicles have been purchased under the Rs. 1 billion allocation for the current financial year. The delivery of all vehicles is expected to be completed by January. Afterward, older vehicles will be returned to their original districts and units.
Officials added that many vehicles were also acquired for the CCD last year. The new fleet will gradually be upgraded with bulletproof features to enhance officer safety during operations. The move aims to ensure the department can respond faster and more effectively to crime incidents across Punjab.
