Islamabad Set to Launch Two Major Flyover Projects - Carr.pk

The Punjab government has approved a new flyover at Ammar Shaheed Chowk, part of Rawalpindi’s massive Rs. 35.28 billion infrastructure upgrade. The addition comes as traffic at the busy interchange continues to rise.

The project includes four flyovers and eight underpasses across the city and cantonment areas. Construction on the Ammar Shaheed Chowk flyover, estimated at Rs. 3.45 billion, will start next year after final clearances.

So far, one flyover and two underpasses are complete. Work continues on two flyovers and three underpasses, while construction on three more underpasses will start on December 20.

Other major developments include the Nawaz Sharif Flyover at Khawaja Corporation Chowk, completed at Rs. 4.4 billion, and the GPO Chowk and TMA Chowk underpasses, finished at Rs. 5.7349 billion.

The Kachehry Chowk flyover and underpass, launched on November 3 for Rs. 5.974249 billion, are expected to open by April 30, 2026. Meanwhile, the Jinnah Park flyover and underpass, costing Rs. 4.672245 billion, will be ready by March 30, 2026.

The underpass and road expansion project on Iftikhar Janjua Road, worth Rs. 2.688073 billion, is expected to finish by January 30, 2026. These projects aim to reduce congestion and improve traffic flow in Rawalpindi.
