The Rawalpindi Signal-Free Corridor is rapidly transforming traffic flow and urban mobility as major infrastructure projects progress across key intersections of the city.

Under the leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, construction work is advancing at multiple locations to ease congestion and improve travel time. The initiative focuses on smart road planning, flyovers and underpasses to ensure uninterrupted traffic movement.

At Jinnah Park near Ammar Shaheed and Annexy Chowk, an underpass and flyover are being developed to streamline traffic. Meanwhile, Katcheri Chowk is undergoing a major upgrade with dual flyovers and an underpass to address one of Rawalpindi’s busiest junctions.

Another underpass is under construction at Iftikhar Janjua Chowk on GT Road to enhance connectivity for commuters entering and exiting the city.

The Rawalpindi Signal-Free Corridor is being described as a key step toward a modern, connected and smarter Punjab, reflecting the government’s focus on sustainable urban development and efficient transport infrastructure.
