4200% Growth: How Sazgar’s Went From Rickshaws To Riches - Carr.pk

If you had told a car enthusiast five years ago that the company making those blue and yellow rickshaws on our roads would soon be dominating the luxury SUV market, they probably would have laughed. But today, Sazgar Engineering Works Limited (SAZEW) is the one having the last laugh.

Recent data shared by KTrade Securities on their Instagram has highlighted a jaw-dropping trajectory for the local automaker. We’re talking about a stock that was idling at Rs. 48 just three years ago and has since shifted into overdrive, hitting a high of Rs. 2,050.

That is a staggering 4,200% profit for those who saw the vision early.

The Turning Point: The GWM Masterstroke

The real game-changer came in 2021 when Sazgar partnered with Chinese giant Great Wall Motor (GWM). By June 2022, they launched the locally assembled Haval H6, and the timing couldn’t have been better. As the Pakistani market shifted away from traditional sedans toward high-riding crossovers, Haval was right there to catch the wave.

The Haval H6 and Jolion didn’t just sell; they became status symbols. Their success paved the way for the hybrid revolution in Pakistan, proving that local buyers were ready to pay a premium for tech-loaded, fuel-efficient SUVs.

The Numbers Don’t Lie (Fiscal Year 2025)

According to the latest financial reports and KTrade’s analysis, Sazgar’s growth isn’t just “hype”, it’s backed by cold, hard cash:

  • Net Profit: Surged to approximately Rs. 16.5 Billion (a massive 106% YoY increase).
  • Earnings Per Share (EPS): Hit an incredible Rs. 210 (reaching up to Rs. 270 by some analyst estimates for the full term).
  • Sales Volume: 4-wheeler volumes grew by over 103% Year-on-Year.

Sazgar’s growth is also due to the milestones in the local market. In July 2024, the company launched the facelifted Haval H6 PHEV. Notably, Pakistan was the first country in the world to receive this H6’s facelift, even before Australia.

Sazgar’s Aggressive Launch Strategy: The Future

Building on this momentum, Sazgar COO Ali Hameed revealed to PakWheels in November 2025 that the locally assembled Tank 500 (HEV and PHEV), alongside the Poer Canon and Canon Alpha, would arrive in early 2026.

Delivering on that promise, the company officially launched the locally assembled Tank 500 in both HEV and PHEV trims on January 20, 2026.

The Tank 500 PHEV gives Sazgar another unique competitive edge. It holds the distinction of being Pakistan’s first locally assembled full-size SUV, as well as the country’s first locally assembled plug-in hybrid in this segment.

Regarding pricing, the Tank 500 is proving to be a game-changer; it is aggressively positioned as the most affordable option in the full-size SUV category, and on paper, it offers a great value for the money, challenging other vehicles in this price bracket.
