Sindh Govt Threatens Vehicle Seizure Over Traffic Rule Violations
The Sindh government has warned transporters that authorities will seize vehicles if drivers fail to follow traffic laws and route permit conditions.
Transport Minister Sharjeel Memon stressed that vehicles must operate within the fixed speed limits. He urged drivers to avoid overloading, reckless driving, and dangerous overtaking.
The minister reminded operators to follow the axle-load limits defined under the National Highway Safety Ordinance. He also banned the use of gas in inter-district transport and school or college vehicles.
“Every public service vehicle must have an emergency exit and a first aid box,” Memon said. He added that all vehicles must carry authentic registration papers and a genuine driving license.

For trips exceeding 322 kilometers, operators must provide two licensed drivers. Transporters must obtain valid route permits by February 28.
Authorities will launch an enforcement drive after the deadline. Vehicles found in violation will be confiscated, FIRs will be registered, and the Excise Department will suspend registration for non-compliance.
