Sony Honda Pushes Ahead with AFEELA SUV Despite EV Slowdown
Sony Honda Mobility (SHM) debuted the Afeela Prototype 2026 at CES 2026 in Las Vegas on January 5. An SUV-inspired EV that’s built on the AFEELA 1 sedan.
This new prototype expands the AFEELA lineup, emphasizing mobility as a creative entertainment space by blending Sony’s entertainment tech with Honda’s automotive expertise.
Key Highlights from the Unveiling
The AFEELA Prototype 2026 features greater spatial flexibility and accessibility compared to the Afeela 1 sedan, aiming to appeal to a broader audience.
SHM CEO Yasuhide Mizuno confirmed plans for a production model based on this prototype, targeting U.S. customers as early as 2028.
Meanwhile, the AFEELA 1 remains on track for deliveries in California in late 2026. The expansions to other states and markets are likely to happen in 2027.
