Tesla to End Production Of Two Models, Shifting Focus to AI - Carr.pk

Tesla is officially pulling the plug on two of its most recognizable vehicles. The company will discontinue production of the Model S sedan and Model X SUV by mid-2026, marking a decisive shift away from low-volume luxury electric vehicles toward autonomy, artificial intelligence, and robotics.

According to the reporting channel, autoblog, the announcement came during Tesla’s latest earnings call, where CEO Elon Musk described the decision as a strategic reallocation of resources.

The Fremont factory, long associated with the Model S and X, will be repurposed to support future-focused projects, including autonomous vehicles and the Optimus humanoid robot.

Tesla says existing owners will continue to receive full service and parts support.

For the global auto industry, Tesla’s decision underlines a broader reality: the future of mobility is shifting from hardware to software.

For Pakistan and other emerging markets, the message is timely. Nations that invest in AI skills, automation, and digital infrastructure today will be better positioned to benefit from tomorrow’s tech-driven transportation economy.
