Traffic Advisory Announced for Islamabad on February 3
Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) have issued a traffic advisory for February 3, 2026, warning commuters of evening diversions on major roads and urging alternative routes to avoid congestion in the federal capital.
According to an ITP spokesperson, traffic diversions will be in effect from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at key points along Islamabad Expressway, Murree Road, and Club Road. Motorists are likely to face increased congestion on Islamabad Expressway and Faisal Avenue during this hour.
Alternative Routes for Commuters
To minimize delays, ITP has recommended the following routes:
- Rawalpindi to Islamabad: Rawal Road, Ninth Avenue, Fakir Epi Road, Srinagar Highway
- Islamabad to Rawalpindi: Zero Point, Srinagar Highway, Ninth Avenue
- Murree and Bari Imam (Barakahu) to Islamabad: Korang Road, Bani Gala Road, Park Road, Lehtrar Road
- Serena Hotel / Barakahu to Rawalpindi: Park Road, Khanna Road
Traffic Assistance and Helplines
ITP confirmed that traffic wardens will be stationed along affected routes to facilitate smooth flow and guide motorists. Citizens can contact the Traffic Helpline 1915 or Emergency Helpline 15 for real-time updates and assistance.
