Travel Advisory: Heavy Snowfall and Rain Grips Upper Regions of the Country
Widespread intermittent rain and heavy snowfall have gripped the upper regions of the country, prompting travel advisories for tourists and commuters. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has warned that severe weather conditions are likely to persist in most of the upper parts over the next 24 hours.

Road Closures & Slippery Conditions: Heavy precipitation is expected to cause road closures and dangerous driving conditions in Naran, Kaghan, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Chitral, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Shangla, Astore, Hunza, Skardu, Murree, Galiyat, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Poonch, Haveli, and Rawalakot.
Landslide & Avalanche Risk: Hilly areas in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Kashmir are at high risk for landslides and avalanches.
Tourist Advisory
It has been advised that tourists exercise extreme caution and avoid unnecessary travel to these areas during the forecast period due to the hazardous conditions.
General Forecast
Rain and thunderstorms with snow over the hills will continue in upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad, and upper Punjab. Moderate to heavy snowfall is specifically forecast for Murree and the Galiyat region. Travelers in plain areas, including Lahore and parts of Punjab, should also expect wet conditions and sharp temperature drops.
