After Karachi, Traffic Fines Increased in Another City
Hyderabad traffic fines have been increased following a similar move in Karachi. Drivers in the city will now face higher penalties for common traffic violations, according to the traffic police.
The new fines include penalties for missing number plates, driving without a license, not wearing helmets, and breaking parking rules.
According to the traffic police, driving without a number plate will result in a fine of Rs. 20,000. Those without a driving license will be fined Rs. 2,500. Not wearing a helmet carries a Rs 500 penalty while wrong parking will cost Rs. 2,000. Violating one-way rules can result in a Rs. 3,000 fine, and vehicles without indicators will be fined Rs. 1,000.

Initially, simple fines will be issued, and soon these will be upgraded to e-challans. The police have already shared all data for the digital system and expect the e-challan system to start shortly.
The traffic department has released the new fine list and given officers one week to implement the updated rules. Public awareness banners about the new penalties have also been placed across the city to inform drivers.
