According to the Islamabad Police advisory, from 27th to 31st December 2025, heavy traffic will be restricted from entering Islamabad between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM daily. The entry ban will be extended on 31st December, from 3:00 PM to 12:00 AM, due to ongoing road construction and preparations for the New Year celebrations.

This ban is expected to cause significant traffic congestion, particularly near GT Road, where only one lane will remain open. Commuters are urged to plan their travel accordingly to avoid delays.

The Islamabad Traffic Police will be deployed across key locations to manage the flow of traffic and ensure safety. 

For any inquiries, citizens can contact the traffic helpline at 1915 or Pukaar 15.

The authorities are taking these measures to ensure smoother traffic flow and maintain order as the city prepares for the busy New Year period. 

Drivers are advised to stay updated and adjust their travel times to minimize disruptions during this period.
