The Balochistan government has imposed a province-wide ban on pillion riding, public display of weapons, and several other activities for one month under Section 144 of the Criminal Procedure Code (Cr.P.C) 1898, citing security concerns and the need to maintain public order.

According to an official notification, the provincial government exercised its powers under Sub-Section (6) of Section 144 to enforce immediate restrictions across the entire province.

The ban includes pillion riding on motorcycles, use of tinted or black glasses on vehicles, travel in unregistered vehicles, and public display or use of weapons.

The notification further states that gatherings, sit-ins, processions, and rallies involving five or more individuals have also been prohibited during the period. In addition, covering or concealing faces in public places including the use of masks, mufflers, or any other means that hinder identification has been strictly banned.

Authorities said the measures have been introduced as a precautionary step to prevent potential law and order situations, curb criminal activity, and ensure public safety. Law enforcement agencies have been directed to implement the restrictions strictly and take legal action against violators without exception.
