CM Punjab Calls for Strict Traffic Enforcement Amid Deadly Fog Accidents - Carr.pk

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has ordered a tighter grip on traffic law enforcement across the province as dense fog continues to blanket roads and contribute to fatal road accidents. The directive comes after a series of tragic crashes and mounting concerns over public safety.

In a statement, the chief minister expressed profound sorrow over lives lost in fog‑related collisions and called on local administrations and traffic authorities to enforce existing laws vigorously. She emphasised that strict compliance with speed limits, lane discipline, and other road regulations is essential to prevent further tragedies, especially during early morning and late‑night hours when visibility is at its worst.

The renewed call for strict traffic law enforcement comes amid a deadly spike in fog‑related accidents across Punjab.

Recent reports from PakWheels show that dense fog claimed 14 lives in a Sargodha truck crash, 10 people died and 21 were injured in multiple highway accidents, and earlier incidents on GT Road resulted in at least 9 fatalities and over 30 injuries.
