Federal Government Announces M-Tag Issuance Locations in Islamabad
Previously, the federal government made M-tags mandatory for all vehicles operating in Islamabad, including those entering from outside.
During a press conference on the “Secure Neighbourhood Survey,” the DC of Islamabad, Irfan Nawaz Memon, mentioned that this tagging system is the only way to keep Islamabad safe and secure.
At that time, Memon announced that the federal government would begin issuing M-Tags to vehicles starting on November 18th, but did not specify where citizens could obtain them.
Now, in his latest post, Memon stated that the district administration of Islamabad has set up M-tag facilities at seven locations around the city, operational from 9 am to 9 pm:
- Kachnar Park
- Lake View Park
- F-9 Park
- Islamabad Club
- Tarlai
- 26 Number
- Excise Office
Once again, we remind Islamabad motorists that the federal government has made M-tag mandatory for all vehicles on Islamabad roads, including those not registered in Islamabad that are entering the city temporarily.
This decision came after the recent suicide car blast in the city, following which Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed authorities to strengthen security measures.
Therefore, it is advised that all motorists living in or traveling to Islamabad obtain an M-tag for their vehicles as soon as possible.
