From Recovery to Overdrive: Pakistan’s Auto Production Surges by 97% - Carr.pk

The automobile sector has emerged as a primary driver of Pakistan’s industrial recovery during the first five months of the fiscal year 2026 (Jul-Nov), registering substantial growth across all auto industry.

Surge in Vehicle Production 

According to the Finance Ministry’s monthly report, the automobile sector’s performance remained robust, supported by an increase in production compared to the previous year. The specific year-on-year (YoY) growth figures for the period of July-November FY2026 are as follows:

  • Trucks & Buses: Recorded the highest jump, with production soaring by 97.0%.
  • Cars: Production increased impressively by 65.1%.
  • Jeeps & Pick-ups: Registered a growth of 38.8%.

Manufacturing Impact & Outlook 

This surge in automotive output has been a key contributor to the overall 5.02% growth in Large-Scale Manufacturing (LSM) during the period. The sector is expected to maintain this momentum, underpinning the country’s positive economic outlook alongside other key industries.

Transport Sector Inflation

While production numbers are up, the cost of transport services continues to impact consumers. In the Consumer Price Index (CPI) for November 2025, the Transport sector was a major contributor to year-on-year inflation, rising 6.1%.
