Islamabad Traffic Police Temporarily Suspend HTV, LTV, PSV Testing
The Traffic Police have announced that practical driving tests for Heavy Transport Vehicle (HTV), Light Transport Vehicle (LTV) and Public Service Vehicle (PSV) licences at the Police Lines Headquarters in H‑11, Islamabad will be temporarily suspended this week due to administrative reasons.
The suspension affects scheduled practical tests for commercial licences, delaying services for applicants seeking HTV, LTV, and PSV credentials. During this period, licence testing services will not be available at the Police Lines testing centre.
Applicants planning their licence process are advised to use the Islamabad Traffic Police’s DLIMS online portal, which offers information on licence application steps and appointments. The portal helps citizens track their driving licence application status and guidelines for future test scheduling.
Officials remind commuters that valid driving licences are mandatory to drive in the capital, and enforcement of traffic laws remains strict.
In recent months, authorities have carried out campaigns to reduce violations, including fines and penalties for driving without a licence, as part of wider efforts to improve road safety in Islamabad.
