Karachi Started It. Is Your City Next in Line for E-Challans?

The launch of Karachi’s e-challan system was met with a variety of responses, with public reactions ranging from frustration over the high amount of challans issued to contentment over increased traffic management. 

One common question raised by citizens of Sindh is why the e-challan has been introduced on a provincial level after Karachi. 

DIG Traffic Syed Pir Muhammad spoke on Express News’ Power Cast program as a response. He explained that authorities are in the process of introducing the e-challan system in other cities of Sindh, as the e-challan amendment applies across the province. He explained that authorities have been using “dummy challans” in different cities, a tactic that they used in Karachi for a few months. 

He stated, “I am the DIG of Karachi, so I am responsible for Karachi,” but assured that other cities in Sindh will soon welcome the implementation of the e-challan system.
