Nearly 1 Million Vehicles Expected in Lahore for Basant
Lahore is gearing up for the three-day Basant festival amid expectations of an unprecedented influx of vehicles, with nearly one million cars expected to enter the city.
Authorities have finalized arrangements to manage the anticipated traffic pressure, particularly on major thoroughfares.
Over 10,000 police officers and 2,500 traffic wardens will be deployed across the city to maintain law and order, with special patrolling units positioned at key roads to assist in smooth traffic flow.
Chief Traffic Officer Athar Waheed stated that the additional personnel will monitor all entry and exit points, while Safe City cameras will provide real-time surveillance from rooftops in designated red zones.
