Planning a Trip to Snowy Areas? NHMP Shares Key Safety Tips

The National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP) has issued important travel instructions for tourists visiting snowy areas across the country. The advisory aims to ensure public safety during the winter season and reduce road accidents in snow-affected regions.

According to NHMP, travelers should check the travel advisory before departure and carry warm clothing, jackets, and socks. Motorists are advised to keep a first aid box, tyre chains, and essential vehicle tools in their cars. The NHMP travel instructions also stress carrying a power bank or extra mobile battery, along with food items, dry fruits, and necessary medicines.

Drivers have been warned to ensure that snow does not accumulate around the vehicle’s exhaust pipe during snowfall. The NHMP travel instructions further advise maintaining full control of the vehicle, keeping a safe distance from other cars, and using main roads as much as possible.
