Over 500,000 Vehicles Expected to Enter Lahore for Basant
Millions of vehicles are expected to enter the city during the three-day Basant Festival in Lahore. It is estimated that over 500,000 vehicles may enter Lahore for Basant.
In view of this, special patrolling teams have been formed, with 10,000 police officers and 2,500 traffic wardens deployed.
The Chief Traffic Officer has invited the entire country to celebrate Basant in Lahore.
In addition to the city’s entry routes, Safe City cameras in the red zone will provide direct monitoring. Traffic arrangements have been finalized.
Chief Traffic Officer Athar Waheed stated that additional personnel will be deployed on the city’s entry and exit routes, and cameras will be installed on rooftops in the red zone for operational monitoring.
SP Operations Safe City, Muhammad Shafiq, said that to ensure compliance with SOPs, joint teams from 15 departments, including Rescue and Police, will remain active.

Officials said that if citizens ensure law-abiding behavior, the Basant Festival can continue on a permanent basis.
