Over 90,000 Vehicles M-Tagged in Islamabad Since Last Month - Carr.pk

Islamabad: The Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) administration has accelerated its M-Tag registration campaign, issuing a total of 90,164 vehicle tags since November 14.

An ICT administration spokesperson confirmed that three new M-Tag registration centers have been set up and are now fully operational, aimed at improving access for vehicle owners across the city.

The Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad noted that once M-Tag scanning systems are fully activated, vehicle identification enforcement will formally begin citywide soon. He advised residents to complete the tagging process promptly to avoid disruptions or potential legal consequences.

Background Context

Earlier in the month, we reported that Islamabad would ban the entry of all vehicles into the city without M-Tags. This initiative came shortly after a suicide blast in Islamabad, after which Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi directed authorities to strengthen security measures.
