Peshawar Makes Registration Compulsory for Online Bike Riders

Peshawar Police have made bike registration mandatory and launched a new mobile app to improve public safety amid rising street crimes involving motorcycles.

The Safe Ride app allows riders to digitally register their details, while those without app access can register manually at local police stations.

After registration, riders will receive a QR code sticker for their motorcycles. Authorities can quickly verify identities, helping deter criminal activities by integrating all registered bikes into the central police database. The move comes after several snatching and robbery cases linked to bike riders, with 10 suspects already arrested.

Officials say the system will protect citizens, safeguard legitimate riders, and give law enforcement better tools to track offenders.

Similarly, Mansehra Police have launched a district-wide registration drive for online bike riders, issuing unique registration numbers and recording full rider credentials. Citizens are urged to ensure all riders complete registration to curb crime and maintain law and order.
