PIA Retirees Lose Medical Facilities Over Biometric Delays

Medical facilities for retired Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) employees have been suspended, sources say, causing concern among former staff.

Following privatization, these services were transferred to State Life Insurance Company, but a large number of retirees have not yet completed biometric verification, preventing them from accessing healthcare.

The insurance company clarified that medical services will not be provided without biometric confirmation. Today, a heavy crowd of retired employees was seen at the PIA Medical Center in Karachi seeking assistance.

According to sources, since February 15, the PIA administration has officially suspended medical facilities for retired employees, leaving many worried about their access to essential healthcare.
