Sindh Begins Crackdown on Two Major Traffic Violations
The Sindh Police have started a province-wide crackdown on vehicles operating without number plates and drivers without valid licenses, following new orders from Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh, Zubair Nazir Ahmed Shaikh.
The directive, issued on December 4, 2025, instructs police officers across Karachi, Hyderabad, Sukkur, Larkana, Mirpurkhas, Shaheed Benazirabad, and all district SSPs to take strict action against violators under the Motor Vehicles Ordinance and relevant rules.
The IGP noted that a large number of vehicles are being driven on Sindh roads without registration plates and by individuals lacking proper driving licenses. Police have been directed to identify these vehicles and drivers, take legal action, and seize vehicles where necessary.

Police units must submit daily reports by 10:00 am, showing the number of vehicles seized, FIRs registered, and vehicles taken into custody under Section 550 of the Criminal Procedure Code (CrPC). The order, marked as “Most Urgent,” stresses strict enforcement of traffic laws across the province. Copies of the directive have been sent to senior police officials for immediate action.
