Third Weekend Tragedy: 7 Critically Burnt in Faisalabad Van Fire
In the third major traffic-related tragedy to strike the country this weekend, seven passengers were critically injured late Saturday night when their van caught fire near Central Jail on Jaranwala Road, DAWN reported.
Rescue 1122 teams rushed to the scene and shifted the burn victims to the Allied Hospital’s specialized burn unit. Rescue officials stated that the van was en route from Jaranwala to Faisalabad when a short circuit sparked a blaze that engulfed the vehicle.
The injured passengers have been identified as Sajida Bibi (50), Muhammad Akram (55), Noor Fatima (17), Salman Ahmad (27), Muhammad Asif (45), Muhammad Yousaf (75), and Taj Muhammad (42).
